Uefa confirm that Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho’s appeals hearing is set for July 29
Uefa has announced on its official website that the Appeals Body hearing in relation to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho’s five-match ban will take place on Wednesday 29 July, at the House of European Football in Nyon.
Madrid have appealed against the disciplinary verdict handed down to the Portuguese tactician by Uefa’s Control and Disciplinary Body on May 6, following his post-match outburst after the 2-0 Champions League loss to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 27.
Mourinho accused European football’s governing body of favouring Barca, and hit out at the referee in charge for his decision to dismiss defender Pepe after a challenge on Dani Alves in the second half of their defeat.
Madrid recently revealed that they were contemplating an appeal, but waited until they had received the reasons for the ban from Uefa before proceeding, which were provided to the club on June 6.
